| In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to answer the question, "What are you going to talk about?" After watching this video, you’ll be able to introduce a topic you want to talk about. |
| Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases! |
| Listen to the dialogue. |
| در مرد چی می خوای صحبت کنی؟ |
| (dar mored-e chi mikhaay sohbat koni?) |
| من می خوام در مورد سرگرمی هام صحبت کنم. |
| (man mikhaam dar mored-e sargarmi-haam sohbat konam.) |
| Once more with the English translation. |
| در مرد چی می خوای صحبت کنی؟ |
| (dar mored-e chi mikhaay sohbat koni?) |
| “What are you going to talk about?” |
| من می خوام در مورد سرگرمی هام صحبت کنم. |
| (man mikhaam dar mored-e sargarmi-haam sohbat konam.) |
| “I'm going to talk about my hobbies.” |
| First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What are you going to talk about?” |
| That's: |
| در مرد چی می خوای صحبت کنی؟ |
| (dar mored-e chi mikhaay sohbat koni?) |
| Listen to it again: |
| در مرد چی می خوای صحبت کنی؟, در مرد چی می خوای صحبت کنی؟ |
| (dar mored-e chi mikhaay sohbat koni?, dar mored-e chi mikhaay sohbat koni?) |
| This Persian sentence literally translates as “About what you want talk?” |
| But it means “What are you going to talk about?”. |
| Now, how do you answer this question? |
| The pattern is: |
| من می خوام در مورد [topic] صحبت کنم. |
| (man mikhaam dar mored-e [topic] sohbat konam.) |
| “I'm going to talk about [topic].” |
| This Persian sentence literally translates as “I am going to about [topic] talk.” |
| But it means “I'm going to talk about [topic].”. |
| For example: |
| “I'm going to talk about my hobbies.” |
| من می خوام در مورد سرگرمی هام صحبت کنم., من می خوام در مورد سرگرمی هام صحبت کنم. |
| (man mikhaam dar mored-e sargarmi-haam sohbat konam., man mikhaam dar mored-e sargarmi-haam sohbat konam.) |
